EXPOSITION

ONE DAY, a massive golden ring appears in the middle of Hoenn's desert. To the experienced, the ring's make is unmistakably Hoopa's: a mischievous djinn that possesses the ability to pull Pokemon from different worlds. Certainly, this ring that waits among the golden sands is a portal too. However, peering through it reveals nothing. Only a shimmering veil of light awaits your entry.[break][break]

However, in the sands, a message is written. In spite of passing gusts, the grains do not obscure the warning:[break][break]

Although war continues to wage on in the region, the ring presents an opportunity for more power—and for more knowledge. However, entering the ring is a massive risk, for there is no guarantee that one will return. Moreover, can Hoopa be trusted? Do the treasures exist? The League and Team Rocket send their finest—while others sneak in—in order to investigate Hoopa's claims and hopefully... to claim Hoopa itself.

OOC EXPLANATION

FOR THIS "RAID", characters will be thrust into various universes ranging from the mundane to the absurd. In order to successfully traverse from universe to universe, characters must pass several trials: think Squid Games or Agatha All Along.[break][break]

Writers must be prepared to consider how their characters will manifest in every universe, for they will take on appearances most fitting to that world.

WHAT IS A RAID?

THIS IS A RAID EVENT where characters post every round, attempting actions and/or responding to prompts or scenarios present within provided MODERATOR POSTS. Oftentimes, characters must make use of the ROLL command, which can determine the success of actions and/or create narrative tension.

This event is DEATH-ENABLED, though that risk is low. Generally, so long as characters follow common sense, the likelihood of a Pokemon dying is negligible.[break][break]

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to take advantage of this event to connect with new characters and to step out of your comfort zones. These events often act as a springboard for a variety of plots in its aftermath, with consequences that impact the wider site narrative and/or setting.[break][break]

This has the POTENTIAL to be A ROCKET VS LEAGUE faction-based event.

RULES

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES.

• only ONE of your characters can participate.
• SIX PKMN MAX can be brought into this event (subject to change).
• please provide a tl;dr &/or bold moves/abilities/items used with each post.
• Rounds will typically last 4-5 days.
• i will not tolerate complaints about not being mentioned, tagged, acknowledged or feeling "useless" in a raid. generally, i attempt to mention all characters and their actions in each post, but depending on the number of participants, this may not be feasible.
• remember that although i am essentially the DUNGEON MASTER or GAME MASTER of this event, much of this event's enjoyment and storytelling rests upon the players shoulders. collaborate with what i provide in each moderator post and each other for the best result!
• lastly, be cognizant of participating players and characters. no one is the "main character" of an event, and allowing space for give-and-take between characters and their actions is highly encouraged.
